I know that you'll want to hear all about our trip to San Antonio and see all the exciting pictures from Arizona.....but sorry -- you're just gonna have to wait.
But I promise......you keep checking and all the news will be here before you know it!

The little blogger that couldn't
I wish I could.....I wish I could.....I wish I could
But I can't.....I can't.......I can't
I have SO many topics I want to share. I have so many adventures I need to tell you about. I have so many pictures to post.
But......unfortunately duty calls and I am forced to tackle this big pile of work instead.
But instead of crying about what needs to get done......let's celebrate what DID get done this week:
--We visited a place for the dog to go while we are gone. We LOVED the place and hope is happy -- cause that's where he's staying
--I got my haircut and hopefully tonight my hair colorist will be available to put in the VERY much needed highlights
--I found TWO pairs of really cute sandals (boy that sure was a diffcult task)
--I found three new outfits to take to Tucson and got my honey some new duds too
--The dog got to the vet and got all his shots, food and medicine and proper papers to be able to go to the boarding house.
--The rental car, the hotel, and the airline tickets are all in place.
BUT>>>there is still a lot of paperwork to tackle. So get my butt off of here and get busy. Oh and then there's the laundry and packing that needs to be finished too!
P.S. So I don't forget -- here is some of the things that I want to visit when we get back
* Our trip to San Antonio
* My dinner with my awesome son
* Of course -- our trip to Tucson!

Ranting and Raving: Employees
As much as I want to rant and rave on this topic -- I will withold my losing my temper and only state a few facts
* Employees these days want the pay, but don't want to do the work
* Employees think they can call you up 10 minutes before they are supposed to open your business and LEAVE A VOICE MAIL that they won't be there. I guess they think we have our cell phones glued to us at all times and that we have no life and are just waiting around to see who is not going to show up
* Employees think that we are there to serve them and that they are the ones that truly run the business
* Employees think that no matter what rules or policies you have -- they don't pertain to them
We need to have the employees to run our business --- but it sure would be a lot easier to not have to deal with employees
Ok.....I quit -- my blood pressure is already soaring and I need to channel my inner peace so I don't blow a gasket!

Too old for late nights
Paul and I really don't go out too much at night --- but when we do........
........we have a blast!
I never really was much of a dancing person. I always felt awkward and thought everyone in the room was staring at me. But the last year or so I've discovered my inner dancing queen. Luckily, Paul is actually the kind of guy that likes to go out dancing too.
Our dancing journey began about a year ago when we went and listened to Abbey Rode and Already Gone -- local Houston tribute bands for the Beatles and the Eagles. At this concert we sat next to a couple about our age. Our first seats in the bar were next to a really rowdy group of people who kept getting in the way and being obnoxious. This couple eventually got up and found a front row table. After a few minutes they came and got us and told us that they had room for us too. We spent the evening watching them dance, dancing a little ourselves, and carrying on a conversation (as best as you can in a noisy bar).
A couple of months later the BEST Beatles tribute band -- The Fab Five -- showed up on our side of town at one of our favorite old hangouts. Trust me when I say this -- you HAVE to have a table reservation at these events or there is NO place to sit. Well much to our amazement there out on the dance floor was the same couple we had seen at a previous "Beatle" event. We once again shared a lttle conversation and made jokes about how we keep seeing them at Beatles concerts.

Well last night we found out that The Fab Five was once again on our side of town. We got our table reservation and the show began at 9:30pm (ugh....very late). Well there out on the dance floor was our "old" friends again. The next thing we knew they were sitting at the reserved table right next to us. We figured we might as well formally introduce ourselves since we keep seeing them at these events.
We had a great evening of talking, eating, FABulous music, and calorie-burning dancing. We've made the invititation to be Facebook friends and plan on hanging out with them at all the Beatles events we can attend. Now we've got some new friends to share these fun nights out with.
What a fun night we had........but getting home at 2am is way too late for us "old" folks. Thankfully we had nothing demanding on our schedules this morning and were able to sleep until 10am.
I think I could really enjoy this dancing thing more often!

Faults and Failures
Some days I just really take a hard look at myself and don't like what I see.
Some of the things wrong can be controlled and are my fault.
Some of the things can't be helped, even though we try hard.
One of my biggest failures is how crappy my house looks. I really try and keep it neat, but there isn't enough time in my day to get everything done. Each day I wake up there are too many "fires" that need to be put out and those come first. It's bad enough that I have to work here and look at this mess day in and day out. I am embarrassed and I don't want anyone to ever come here and see this.
We have so many "projects" that need done around here -- but the business consumes ALL our time. The little bit of time we do have left -- we try and do something fun or we're so tired we just need to stop and take a break. It really is depressing every morning when you wake up and it's back to work again -- it would be nice to get a day off -- even when you're sick. My husband is hardly ever here -- some of these things I can't do myself.
I'm mad about my weight. I used to be this skinny little thing and now I feel embarrassed about how fat I am. We try to eat good, but our schedule doesn't allow for regular eating. It's not good for you to eat dinner at 10pm every night.
Occasionally, I get really mad at myself for these shortcomings and try to do better -- but then the real world sets back in and I can't seem to get all that I need to get done.
We are getting ready to leave in a couple of days to take a couple of days off (well kind of -- a little bit of work mixed in). Hopefully when I come back I'll feel refreshed and ready to tackle this overwhelming pile of stuff that has become my life. Maybe a clear and rested brain will allow me to get things done.
But then......when you walk into the house -- there it all is again and your reality begins all over again.

Let the fun begin.....after the work gets done!
Leaving town on Monday and coming back Wednesday afternoon.
Here's the things that need to get done before this event can happen:
1. Catch up two weeks of paperwork
2. Make sure our "fancy schmancy" dress clothes are pressed and cleaned
3. Get all deposits done and banked
4. Haircuts and Highlights
5. Make sure the beloved family pet has special food and meds
6. Get a couple of new outfits
7. Laundry
8. Pack
9. Clean House
Here's what realistically will get done before we go:
#1, #2, #3, #5, #8
And even all that is pushing it.
But we are so looking forward to our days off and visits here:

Canyon Lake, Texas
and here.........

San Antonio, Texas
Ahhhhhhh............let the relaxation begin!
