Took me awhile to write this one and I actually started it a couple of weeks ago. I would jot down a thing or two every day. As thoughts would come into my head about old memories I wanted to include in this, the more smiles I got. I'm sure you'll get a chuckle or two out of some of these things you might not have thought about in a long time.
Do you remember:
My earning a seat on the Tucson Junior Symphony. I remember you having to drive me every Saturday to that Music store on Speedway for rehearsals so that I could be a part of it and how you were disappointed when I didn't want to continue it any longer in junior high.
How about when I was so excited to call and tell you that first year that I made the songleading squad in high school. Once again, you had to cart me all over the place just so I could get to games, practices, part-time jobs or wherever I needed to go. I can remember you being in the stands at the football game cheering more for me than the action on the field.

There has been some REALLY funny things too:
That first time you took us to our first carnival and we rode this:

You were so brave until that ride started turning sideways. I turned around and saw the sheer terror on your face! I wanted the ride to hurry up and end because I knew you were so scared.
Remember playing miniature golf with the whole family and grandma that one night. We laughed so hard that we could hardly play. Needless to say......our skills were really bad that evening on the golf course!

How about the "girls only" trip to Seattle? That was SO much fun. My first airplane trip (and you are not the best flyer either) and how much we had laughing, shopping, sightseeing, and eating our favorite SEAFOOD every opportunity we could get.

Then of course there is always the life events: my getting married (well maybe one of those times you were happy), having grandchildren, and taking care of me when I was so sick. By the way -- you are still the only one that I wish was here to take care of me when I get a fever.
There are so many more memories that could be shared....but there's just not enough space to write it all down. But it's fun to remember some of the "funniest" times of our crazy family life.
Thanks for being a great mom and I hope that you have a wonderful birthday!

P.S. When you are trying to hide Christmas presents --- the worse place is under your bed (we always found them)!
