My own Happy Mother's Day!

I had a wonderful Mother's Day.

I'm just a little late in posting all the pictures.

Actually, there's not many photos.....because I was having too much fun.

How come no one else in the family ever thinks to pick up the camera and take a few photos......they are so much fun to look at?

So here's what we did.

We left Houston about 9pm on Saturday night along with Aaron from across the street. We drove our 1 1/2 hours and then met my Aaron at the Kroger in Clute to get all the goodies for the day. My goal was to NOT leave the house until it was time to drive back home.

After getting back to Aaron's house we stayed up pretty late just sitting on the deck, listening to the ocean, drinking a couple of Coronas, and getting eaten alive by mosquitoes.

Next day began with Paul and I walking along the beach....how romantic. Then it was back to the house to load up the car and driving the block over to the beach. We set up camp with an unbrella, cooler, beach toys, boogie boards, and sunscreen.

The weather was perfect, the water temperature was perfect, and the company was perfect. We enjoyed ourselves so much throwing frisbees while fighting the waves, boogie boarding, and just relaxing and enjoying the moment.

After a full day on the beach, we decided it was time to start our feast.

Nothing better than BBQ'd hamburgers on the grill with beans on the side. How relaxing to hang on the deck cooking together and just enjoying the end of our day.

Next day it was a slow start because we were all burned to a crisp.....so we got up a little late and met Aaron for lunch at our favorite place.....Pirate's Alley. Then our mini vacation was done too soon and we were headed back home.

what a great time it was.

Upgrading

A couple of weeks ago it seemed like all my office machines quit at the same time. My dinosaur fax (I had a good one, but had to go back to the dinosaur when my good one broke) needs upgrading.

My trusty old printer was finally starting to kick the bucket......after probably a million copies on it.

And my new 1 year old color photo printer/scanner died (this one really makes me mad.....I hardly used it).

So my husband went out and found me the cadillac of all office machines.

I replaced 3......count them......3 office machines with this brand new fax, copier, scanner, and printer. It's awesome. It's wireless. I can fax documents directly from my computer without printing them out. I am in love.

Thank you honey, I love my new machine! After all, a girl can't do a good job without an office full of good equipment.

Friday's Hodge Podge of Photos

I am always taking pictures of things I am going to write about.....but then the time gets away from me and I don't get it written down and then the next thing you know is too much time has passed and then it's too late to write the story.......on and on and on.......

So here is a collection of photos that I've taken recently of the yummy meals we've been eating. Enjoy!

The end of an era....so long old friend

We do quite a bit of travelling. We bought a bag about 10 years ago to use as a "catch all" for all the paraphernilia that we always seem to have to take with us when we go on a trip.

It was first purchased for a trip to go to Fort Lauderdale and Orlando. It worked well and always carried books, music players, puzzle books, extra change for airport purchases, headphones for various airlines, and everything else we needed.

This bag has been to Las Vegas, Boston, New York City, Orlando, Tucson, New Orleans, Reno, Washington, D.C., Fort Lauderdale, Los Angeles, Atlanta....and maybe a couple of others I have forgotten.

It's a great bag....but it's really bulky and I usually get tired of carting it around the airports. Here's an example of what it currently holds.

So now that we've gotten updated on our technology....we're now reading with e-books. I have a Kindle and Paul has a Samsung tablet. Just these two little devices have greatly enhanced our lives (We'll post on that topic some other time).

So now instead of having to carry a bulky, heavy bag filled with books and loads of other what not......we've downsized and gotten ourself a cute little number. Can't wait until our next trip (Tucson here we come!) to try that baby out.

Hallelujah.....NO laptop to carry and NO heavy bag to schlep around!!

But don't think that this story ends on a sad note. We're not about to put her out to "rest". I think she'll make a perfect beach bag for when we make all our trips down to Aaron's resort this summer!

Relativity.....of course!

First of all, let's start off by saying that this post is NOT about the Theory of Relativity. I don't even know what it is or who made it up and I'm WAY too old to need that knowledge anytime soon......so we're not going to talk about that.

We're going to talk about yesterday's chain of events.

....of course, I got up and started working first thing in the morning. I should have worked on the payroll first, because that was the priority of the day. But instead, I chose to work on some other things that could have been a little delayed.

....of course, it started raining (pouring) about 5pm.

....of course, that meant the phones started ringing off the hook early and Pizza Zone Kuykendahl got MAJORLY busy.

....of course, my Quickbooks wouldn't do the paychecks because I hadn't downloaded the latest version that I was supposed to by May 31st.

....of course, it took 1 1/2 hours for the download to take place so that I could start doing the paychecks.

....of course, by the time I was ready to do paychecks....Paul needed help and I had to go in and take deliveries.

....of course, we needed to go out and eat a quick dinner before we got home at 10:00pm to do paychecks.

....of course, we worked hard and quickly as a team to get the paychecks done and delivered to Grant Rd. and back home by 11:15.

....of course, we jumped in bed and started reading our books before it was time to go to sleep.

....of course, we're off to a busy day and lots of things are happening and life is never still!
