Wow!

....it's been a long time since I've posted.

Life's busy.

Can't complain.

Last time I tried I couldn't post a picture, and that's part of the reason why I haven't been here.

It's no fun to blog if you can't add the pictures.

I have LOTS of pictures.

We've been doing LOTS of things lately.

We're always busy.

But I can't complain.

I finally found something

Ever since I started my "guest" room, I have been looking for things to adorn the walls and furniture.  Well after months of searching, I finally found the first thing for the wall.

This awesome metal wall art with Route 66 on it!  I am so excited.....especially since I just recently travelled along a tiny part of this historic route.  Love it even better when you find it for 50% off......although I would have still wanted it at full price....it would have just hurt a little more to spend that :-)

I've really been leaning towards "Texas" items, but can't find what I have dreamed in my head.  Things like the Texas flag painted on wood or metal.  Ecletic Texas things, but not the cowboy theme.  I saw the shape of Texas made out of old Texas license plates the other day in a restaurant.  That's exactly the kind of stuff I'm looking for.  I guess half the fun should be searching for the perfect items......so now I am on a mission.

Will keep you posted on my discovery of "treasures"!

Another fun day planned

Oh how I miss blogging.  I miss sharing all the fun eventful things that have been going on in my life. 
WAIT.....I miss doing all the fun eventful things that I can have something fun to blog about.

Actually, life has been just way too crazy the last month or so.

We held interviews a couple of weeks ago and had two really great candidates which we were excitingly going to hire.  Then we did the background checks.  Seriously people, if the application asks "have you have been convicted of a felony"......just be honest about it.  If you're gonna lie there -- how can we trust you to be in charge of our money??  And we really think that something like aggravated robbery should be disclosed at the time of your interview.  So now we are back to square one again.....with no relief in sight.

But to get back to today's topic:  another fun day planned.

To begin with it's a freezing cold 34 degrees.  I just decided that my day will include STAYING HOME all day.  I put on my sweat pants and sweater socks and I'm ready to begin.  Here's todays tasks:

* catch up last weeks paperwork cause I have to do payroll this week (boo)
*  do W-2's
* mail out school night calendars
* pay some bills
* fill out some forms
* clean up all the little tasks that are laying about my desk
* new customer packets
* print flyers for mailing tomorrow

Tomorrow's day will start exciting.....we're going to an auction!  Except that the auction is in a non-heated warehouse and it's expected to be about 30 degrees in the morning.  Wow.....sounds fun - doesn't it?

Well I'm off to start my day.  If I work really hard today and get lots done, maybe I'll be able to post some pictures and let you all see what we've been up to for the past month!

It feels like forever

It feels like forever since I've really sat down and done an intelligent post.

It feels like forever since I've had the time to even catch my breath.

I am so full of stories and interesting things that have been happening.

But there just isn't time in my day lately to take the moment and put it all down.

I am leaving tomorrow morning for my 3 day journey to get my son relocated to his new home.

I'm excited.  I'm tired.  I'm overwhelmed.

Maybe getting away for a couple of days will clear my head and get me back on track a little.
