Two "NEWS" in one post

The first NEW: New Orleans
As I was perusing my photos today.....I discovered that I never properly posted the ending of the New Orleans trip.  Unfortunately, I got sick and then lots of things happened in between......but I'm sure that all of you have been sitting on the edge of your seats waiting for the final day in New Orleans.

Well......it started with hangovers.  We really had a great time our last night there and probably indulged a little more than normal.

Got on the road about 10am and started heading west on good old I-10.

Of course, when you have the best travelling companion in the whole wide world......there is no long silences in the car.......it's filled with music and of course discussions about Pizza Zone!

It was finally determined about noon that we should stop and get some lunch.  Since we had done nothing but sample the local cuisine for the first 3 days.....it only seemed fitting to stop and get some Cajun or Creole food for lunch.  We found the perfect place in Lafayette, Louisiana.

A stop was made at ******* (I was hoping I remembered the name of the place we ate at....but I can't).  It was a Cajun/Creole establishment and we ate the best dang food ever!  There was an old grandma in the kitchen just cooking up a storm and that food was awesome.

I can't remember what Paul ate.....but I had deep fried pork chops, cabbage, some kind of fancy rice....and more food that I could possibly eat.  Delicious.  (I had a picture, but now I can't find it....of course)

With our bellies full...we jumped in the car and headed back to Houston.  The end. (trust me....the rest of the journey home included rain, traffic jams, and long periods of boring silence.  But we still can remember it being as a fun trip).

The 2nd NEW:  New Mexico
As you know, we just recently had a new adventure there.  Not ready to start detailing that trip yet (but if I don't I'll forget it too)......so just a little picture to show you all the magnificent shopping that I did there.

Aaron bought me a new Indian pot, I got a Sun, a new address marker, a new salsa bowl, a new kachina, and I got Cris a new lighter.  We bought a couple of other items that didn't make this picture......but it is so hard not to spend money in that beautiful old historic city.

Stay tuned.....the exciting play-by-play details of this trip will be coming soon!
